Katy McGlynn

Children and Young People’s Service Manager

Employed at My CWA since 2018, Katy serves as the Children and Young People’s Service Manager, where she manages and coordinates My CWA’s contextual safeguarding response. In this role, Katy works closely with partner agencies to ensure effective outcomes for children and young people. She is responsible for reviewing all cases within the service to ensure that the support provided meets My CWA’s high standards. Additionally, Katy manages the delivery of complex and specialist interventions, including behavior change work with children, young people, and individuals within families, either in a 1:1 or group setting. 

Katy is also dedicated to collaborating with multi-agency partners to promote joint working for the benefit of young people, families, and the wide community. She contributes to the professional development, supervision and training of frontline staff, providing effective supervision at least every four weeks. Furthermore, Katy creates and delivers training packages focused on domestic abuse and My CWA’s interventions, while building positive relationships with strategic partners in line with the organisations goals. 

Katy graduated with a BA (Hons) in English from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2020 and has since pursued further qualifications to enhance her expertise. These include a Gateway Facilitation Qualification in 2021, the Young Persons Violence Advisor (YPVA) Qualification with Safe Lives in 2023. Katy is also trained in completing AIM assessments and AIM interventions. In 2024, Katy completed Level 3 Safeguarding Adults for Managers and Designated Safeguarding Leads, PRAM Training with PEGS, and a Level 3 Team Lead and Supervisor Course. Currently, Katy is currently studying a Social Work Apprenticeship degree, furthering her commitment to professional growth and excellence in service delivery.
